2. Clean & declutter rooms

You want to aim to have one single focal point in your decor per room. This may be a bright flower vase in your living room or accent throw pillows. Think minimal! If you have been in your home for a while and still have the existing window treatments, it is very likely that they are outdated! Stay away from dark colors and patterned curtains.
